Hi Netdog,

Thanks for getting me back online! Truly appreciate it.

Is there anyone I can email at Comcast, or your supervisor, etc to give them only positive feedback about your extra effort to get me online, when no on else at Comcast "tech support" could help me.

You should definitely be recognize by your company/supervisors for the help you're giving all of us with this problem.

I'm not interested in bitching to them about my problem. I just don't want to see your efforts go un noticed by comcasat.

IM me!

Thanks

Please PM NetDog See Profile and\or netcool See Profile with your CM-MAC (HFC-MAC) so we can take a look..

NOTES:
1.) This current issue we are talking about ONLY affects the Zoom 5352 and SBG6580

2.) Please reboot it before you send us the PM, this way it will be fresh on the CMTS and our systems

3.) Yes the modem needs to be online for this to work; plugged into power and the cable network (with the lights on)

4.) Once we get your message and submit it to the fix code it takes about 15 to 30 minutes.. (providing the CM-MAC is correct and it is online at the time)

5.) New code is coming for both models, I know not soon enough..

6.) A temporary fix is on the way, almost done.. I will post when completed

Thanks NetDog, you are the best.
is there anyway that we can have something to tell the customer support folks at Comcast about how they could fix this for future people with this issue.

Same problem with Motorola SBG6580, with Comcast getting access denied, globe blinking. Comcast support unable to fix, a tech came home and dropped off their router. Can you help fix this , I will PM you.

If its taking too long you may be in same situation I was in. I had called Comcast and spent countless hours on the phone with them. I found this forum and sent a PM to netdog. It didnt work, so a day later I rebooted and sent another PM. It didn't work either, so a day later I did a factory reset waited for all 4 lights to be green and for the globe to flash and instantly sent another PM. This time I was up and running within 5 minutes!

Some times a factory reset is required but most times it isn't, just a reset before I kick it into gear...

NetDog again FTW!

I bought a refurb SBG6580, which was factory reset. Comcast tech couldn't help me out, suggested I lease their modem.

Found this thread, IMed NetDog, and I'm online...thanks again NetDog (G.O.A.T!).

UPDATE:

I have code running right now, It should fix your device within an hour of the issue seen on the network.. Once again item #3 is still in affect, your device needs to be online for the code to pick up the issue.. If your device is offline for longer or doesn't come back online please feel free to PM me your CM-MAC (HFC-MAC)
