[Internet] Upgraded from 10mbps>25mbps, now steam wont downloadOkay, so I had 10mbps DSL, and today I upgraded to 25mbps. I got a new modem for the service and it's set up.
Everything to do with my internet works fine. Except steam now. (before you tell me to complain to my ISP, I am, but I'm making a post here because I know they're just going to blame steam and I need some help because I dont know what to do).
I had a game half downloaded. I went to start it now that I have my new internet. It won't download. It's stuck on "Downloading.." but nothing happens. Steam in general is very laggy, won't load pictures, even EULAs wont load. Again, no issues anywhere else.
I can't start downloading new games, it just gets stuck on "preparing GAME files for install.." and does nothing.
I am with the same ISP as well.
I uninstalled it, and now it's just stuck on trying to update.
I did every possible combination of rebooting and reseting every piece of hardware. I opened all of the required ports.
Seriously need help. Can't use steam at all.. |

Re: [Internet] Upgraded from 10mbps>25mbps, now steam wont downlUpdate: I tried my computer that is connected to the network via Wire. It works fine with steam, perfect actually. My main computer is connected via a brand new, excellent wireless network adapter. It worked FINE with steam before the new router.
I must conclude the router is the cause. I have no idea where to go from here.
FIXED. I just switched which USB port my wireless network adapter was in and that seems to have fixed it.. I'd assume my WNA just needed to be reset but I did that several times. Whatever, I'll take it. |
