I'm sick of subcription channels these days.
On demand content is where it's at. I wish they'd stop selling all the poor subscription channels in bulk packages set in their own timescales. Whats on anymore? It's mostly crap garbage or reruns! There are a few shows that stand out. These run around prime time an rerun multiple times per week..
In today's market we still get commercials and pay per month for relatively 95% of what I consider fodder content.
Companies who create subscriber channels need to be held accountable for their quality. What would kick the markets arse is if people only paid for content that they actually wanted to watch when they wanted it.
If this was the way channels where done they could fill the options with bulk content but no one would watch it. By throwing all that crap on they stop making money. On the other hand if they make good content people would watch it!
I don't want to pay for ESPN. I also don't want to watch the same 5 episodes of pawn shop and storage wars every other day. If the subscriptions aren't getting views because they fill them with fodder then I'm all for cutting their paycheck until something interesting comes on.
Al La carte won't work because the channels create one or 2 decent shows and the other large percentage is GARBAGE. It's absurd. At least Netflix lets you choose what you want and you can cancel if they don't supply quality content your interested in.
Subscription channels are old technology. They get their money by bundled packages. If we had the option to choose only what we where watching for one flat fee Like Netflix there wouldn't be half the garbage and waste in the entertainment industry.
