I am looking to cut back on my cable bill and have tried getting an antenna working in Greenville and can't pick up all the major stations. If I subscribe to basic cable and hook it up to my hdtv (Which seems to be able to get local channels in HD now) I am also looking into getting a tv tuner card for my computer and running windows media center alongside an xbox 360 as an extender.
Anyone had any luck with cutting the $$ / month with this setup?
Sounds like your main goal is getting basic cable at a reduced rate. Not really sure how you could attempt it since you'd be a new customer. Being that all you want is the broadcast networks, I would suggest you try a different antennae or try re-aiming it and/or relocating it. What hardware are you currently using and what is your proximity to the towers? you can go to tvfool.com to help aim your antennae -- 30/2 Suddenlink : Current 5/1 CMA : Old 15/2 TWC : Old
I tried the Mohu Leaf Ultimate, but the problem I am facing is that I am on the bottom floor of my condominium and TV fool suggests pointing the antenna directly South West and my condo has no open windows or areas to point in that direction.
I would need Condo approval to put anything on the roof and it would be a big hastle to do this.
