[CenturyTel] DSL Problem

This morning we had a minimal power glitch.. but as my modem was plugged into a UPS my connection held... 30 min later my internet dropped and when it came back up I was connected at 512/256 kps instead of my normal 10 mbs connection. Last time this speed reduction happened, it was because either the card was swapped or they had reduced speed on the wrong circuit. I hate this waiting crud for a tech to get notified through chan when they cause the problem and can fix it without getting out of their chairs. I now gotta wait another 24 hours before i can ask again why my dsl connection is running at 1/20 of what I paid for.

It was in fact as I stated. Someone had cut the speed back on my connection. I will however give Centurytel credit for resolving my reported problem fairly quickly. Now I suppose that since my card had been set back instead of the intended customer... he will be still running at the higher speed than paid for while and contributing to network congestion.
