Re: [Tampa] Netflix not streaming in HD

Gary... I thought you of all people would get a chuckle out of this one...

Thank you for contacting Netflix customer support.

Here is the transcript from your recent chat with customer support:

Netflix Barry
Hello Hello. My name is Barry. How may I help you?

You
Hi Barry I'm having a problem with HD streaming this evening

Netflix Barry
No good. And which device are we streaming on today?

You
Well, I tried on my LG BDP and my HP Touchsmart PC neither would play in HD... Always played fine in the past.

Netflix Barry
So let me take a look at the Devices and the symptoms that you gave me. And how's your day going so far?

You
So far so good

Netflix Barry
And I found an article that will help out.

Netflix Barry
Click here... So we run at HD all the time. The speed it gets to your PC is what's not letting the HD work out. Take a look at the article and let me know if you have any questions.

You
OK my home network is Gigabit wired and my ISP connection is 90/10

Netflix Barry
That's great. And is it running at that speed right now?

You
Yes

You
I get HD from Amazon and from Vudu

Netflix Barry
I understand, but we have different operation systems, and different requirements for speed.

You
OK well I guess I'll just wait for someone to fix something

Netflix Barry
You can call your Internet service to make sure you are getting the right speeds needed to get the HD going. And they will make sure that you get the right speed to match our requirements. We only do Netflix. I can fix any Netflix issue. We can't fix the speed at which it makes it to the devices.

You
So you feel this is an ISP problem? When other content is being delivered fine?

Netflix Barry
I do, because if the HD was working before and all of a sudden it stops, with out pushing any buttons then yes. We operate a HD level all the time. So if you're not getting it, you will need to check out the device or contact the ISP.

You
Well one of the streams just went to HD... While we were chatting...

Netflix Barry
On Netflix?

You
Yes

Netflix Barry
Good, and what did you do to get that to work?

You
Didn't touch it

Netflix Barry
That means its the ISP. It's giving you speeds at a non consistent rate.

You
No... that probably means it's Amazon Web Services having an issue...

Netflix Barry
Is that not an ISP?

You
No that's your host... You co lo your cloud content delivery system with AWS.

Netflix Barry
I gotcha. And is there anything else we can do for you today?

You
Nope thanks

Netflix Barry
if you need anything else we are glad to make sure we can help you out. You have a nice day. And one more thing, if you wouldn't mind, please stay online for a one question survey.
