[PHONE] Playing the radio through the phone

How do people play the radio on there phone? I know someone who has Cogeco phone and their phone plays 102.9 K-lite FM. How the heck do you do that? That is really cool!
Would you need a special MTA and a business plan to do it?

There's an app called TuneIn Radio, that has all the internet streams for radio stations... Works good when you want to listen to a ball game or hockey...

Then there's rdio, a paid service like netflix, but for music.

Both have alternatives, but these are what I use on my android cell.

I know that doesn't answer your question, but if all you want is radio, then go nuts.

It could be that they have a radio connected to the mic port or a special box to do it... or it could be bad wiring causing ingress

I remember when digital phone first launched that happened to someone in Grimsby, ended up being the inside wiring was picking up a local radio station and the customer heard it every time they went to call someone.

You can configure Asterisk (and other open-source PBXes I'm sure) to open an arbitrary web stream URL when an extension is dialled.
