Re: Service Electric Cablevision News Got my bill notice e-mail today. The friggin access pack went up $4 so now its $90.43 for 20/2 internet and phone. That's pretty steep. They don't offer a lower speed access pack either.
Considering dropping phone for ooma but still on the fence about relying on the Internet and router for phone. Kind of like how its separate and it's been very reliable phone service. |

Bonka join:2002-12-05 Tamaqua, PA | Prices went up for everything. Mahanoy finally got new prices for June as well, except we don't have faster internet speeds yet. Still stuck on 12/1 for internet only, but the price went up $4. The monthly cap went from 100gb to 150gb, but considering it's easy to not run in to that by downloading stuff in off hours it doesn't really matter much. |

@Cypherstream, My monthly bill went up by $7.43/month. I am now paying $212.40/month. The HD/DVR Triple Play Plus pack went from $144.40/month to $148.40/month and they added a Broadcaster Retransmission Fee of $3.43/month to my bill.
I was expecting the $4/month increase because we did not receive a rate hike from last year because of the problems they had with the transition. We are still $4/month behind you Birdsboro customers yet so that will be another increase coming to me. Probably will happen when they get the Fiber Hub built and get Mahanoy City tied into the Hazleton headend. They also have to start integrating Shenandoah into Hazleton.
If I decide to buy two Tivos I can save about $8.43/month by turning in the Pace DVR. The only drawback is I will lose access to VOD.
Bonka will be relieved as I am having internet issues now. I had download speeds as low as 322 Kbps on Tuesday. They are going to install the DOCSIS 3.0 modem next week and then start troubleshooting the problem. |

@ Bonka, There is another rate hike coming as we are lagging behind the other divisions. I suspect when the Fiber Hub gets built we will get the other rate hike. When the hub gets built you should move up to 20 down and 2 up. I will move to 30 down and 3 up. |

Bonka join:2002-12-05 Tamaqua, PA | Yes, I will be looking forward to the bump up to 20/2, if my issues are solved by then. If the internet actually becomes reliable I want to talk the others in my household in to ditching Dish tv and Frontier phone and grab the triple play so we can have the 30/3. Not sure that will happen, but 20/2 is good enough at least. Hell, I'm happy with the 12/1 for the most part, if it was working properly. Beats the old 4/1 DSL I had. |
