Honestly man, you are missing absolutely nothing.

From what I've read, I am GLAD I don't have it yet.

What exactly brings you to that conclusion? I've had it since the first day of full deployment in VHO3 and there have been no problems. The only problem I encountered was a hardware failure that had no relationship to the deployment of IMG 1.9.4.

It is forced in a way. I'm sure the majority of the users will not know they can get rid of it and they will be hitting Exit each time they turn their boxes on.

I've had the start-up screen pop up when I've turned on my boxes for a few days now (though I've had 1.9.4 for weeks) and as soon as I've given it a once over it has switched off on its own. It gives me a couple promos and the current weather and I sort of like it. Not great but not bad, three out of five.

What brought me to that conclusion,...is simply from what I've read.

Specifically, the problems some have been experiencing since getting 1.9.4.

And what are those problems? I haven't read of any and am curious to know so I can keep a look out for them. Thanks.

Boston and NY are generally on the back end of any roll-out.

Boston and NY were in the same DAC until the last rollout. The order now may be different.

this doesn't seem like a major update at all, so I can wait...everything's running smooth with 1.9.1 (VHO5)

Folks,
As I understand, 1.9.4 only has stability related fixes, and not really user percievable features, so we may not notice much difference from the outside.

We still have 1.9.1 here in VHO4. Anyone know of a roll-out schedule?

IMG 1.9.4 is now in VHO4.

This is sure some slow rollout for an update that the user doesn't notice.

Nothing beats being woken up by Verizon at 3 a.m. One of my boxes — the bedroom one — insists on turning on following these updates. It's twin, downstairs, doesn't. Maybe I missed some setting, but it is annoying.

What do you mean by it waking you up, you mean it turns itself on? If so, why wouldn't the tv itself be off so no sound is heard?

In typical computer nomenclature its version 1 release 9 mod 4. So yeah, its mostly bug fixes with a few minor changes.

Has Verizon ever had anything but a slow roll-out for anything?

Precisely why it doesn't matter and people need to just move along. Nothing to see here.

Respectfully, just because the user doesn't notice what is actually in the update doesn't mean it isn't significant. I understand there were some significant back-end changes in preparation for TBD future functionality, plus correcting bugs. And I've noticed faster action of the menus from which I infer to be a result of code streamlining. So the salient point is that Verizon hasn't halted the rollout for any long period of time like they did in prior rollouts where they broke new things with the rollout. That, in and of its self, is new.

why does Verizon stick to the same order for every rollout?...why can't they switch it up every once in awhile?...VHO 5 always seems to be one of the last...are they trying to punish us for getting the best promos, prices and deals?

They have varied the roll out. Normally Florida would have been done already. This time its later.

I gather Florida was delayed for some other reason this time.

I am not sure there is any normal sequence other than what nycdave states.

I have been updated this week (VHO9A). Now my DVR will not record for more than a few seconds before shutting down the channel.

Not only what nycdave states but it's the industry norm for the telecom/internet sector.
