[CustSvc] Chris: Comcast Products Specialist [amusing]

Just a funny observation: Every time I'm on the "Products" page I get a pop-up from "Chris" the Comcast Product Specialist. I've even asked: "Why can't the bot pick random fake names instead of Chris. I was told twice that "yes my name is Chris". Really! Too funny. Chris must get some serious overtime working 24/7 dedicated to me. LOL!

Just had to stir the "Chris" pot one more time.

Just had another interaction with my dedicated CSR Chris trying to cancel HBO. Who would ever know that you can't downgrade services online. I didn't know. Oh & yes I called Chris "Chip" through the conversation with no reaction. LOL!

Transcript:

Chris: Hi, Im a live Comcast products specialist. What questions can I answer for you today on adding new services?
Chris: Just type your question below.
You: Hello Chip, I would like to drop HBO please.
Chris: How may I help you today?
You: As I typed already: I would like to drop HBO please.
Chris: I am sorry to hear that you would like to remove your HBO premuim channel. I understand that you are trying to save however I would like to set expectations that we do not downgrade service here online.
Chris: I can assist you with adding services or upgrading here on this website. I get that too.

I am thinking of getting their home control offering (home automation without the security part) and I was browsing their pages on that offering and I got that popup with the agent's name being Chris.

I think it's the online version of salesman hounding the customers. It's like going to the mall and getting hounded by the salesman. Furniture stores are the worst for salesman harassment, especially Sleepy's and Raymour & Flannigan. If I go into a store, I like to browse the merchandise, take notes, and research the product before buying it.

The Best Buy at Holyoke Mall knows me because I go there often and I spend quite a bit of money there and they know my shopping style and that if I need advise on a product that I will ask for it.

I notice chat pop ups on many sites and not just Comcast.com, Verizon Wireless and the Verizon landline site does that too along with many others. If you want to avoid that, then try to visit the site late at night when their staffing levels are at the lowest.

I've experienced ImOn (when they were McLeod USA), Mediacom, Comcast, and Time Warner and I currently have DirecTV. They are much better than broadcast TV.

I have not and will not cut the cord.

Just have to add: A buddy I use to work with is working for Comcast for the past year. In fact, he saw my ticket & came to my house to address my signal issue. And yes, his name is "Chris". LOL!
