to Icarus Up here in New England, when it is hot, it always seems super humid also.

You damnyankees need to come down here on the Gulf...learn the true meaning of hot and humid.
It's only taken me 35 years to get used to it...sort of
EDIT: ooooops! Being a Red Sox fan I understand how some of you may take umbrage at being called damnyankees. My apologies :-D

Hah hah haaa! Yup, I lived on the Gulf for about 1/2 of my life (Houston and area). I worked for an electrician and my job was crawling in Houston Attics filled to rock wool and roach dung, believe me, I know the heat. I would perspire so badly it squirted out of my forehead. That was one tough job. As much as I love Texas, I'll take CT for now.

to signmeuptoo94 Yepper, I'm a current victim...er...resident of the Bayou City. Moved here from Rochester NY in '77. That was both climate and culture shock! Don't really miss the winters tho. I'm gonna head to slower pace and shadier climes of Chapel Hill, NC in February. Looking forward to that!

to Icarus I lived in there back when the gambling hall on Galveston's beach was still there, visited it (forget its name, but ZZ TOP did a song about it). Things were SO much different back in the 70's and 80's in Houston. For instance, the type of business in The Montrose was entirely different than what I think the area has now (a lot of chicken houses). Also, we didn't have the Wham Bam Tram there either, they were hardly even talking about it when I was there. I-10 hadn't been widened and I-59 was being totally redone and was a nightmare to traverse. I was an executive courier for part of my days there and drove a LOT of miles.
Edit: We've got it way easier in New England, this is a rundown of Houston weather:

to Icarus Let's face it, most of us live in a temperate zone. Maybe that's why so many around here lose their tempers so easily!

It sorto looks like it..............................................
I am sooooo grateful that I didn't see that when I was workin' outside in the miserable heat.
New England was horrible enough all weekend without the sky actively attacking us....
