[Embarq] CenturyLink DNS down

Century Link in Central Pennsylvania, was Embarq.

the two assigned DNS IPs, 74.5.116.246 & 205.244.194.36 ping, but do not resolve domains.

Speedtest also > 180 ms latency and sub-megabit speed results on a 3Mbps DSL

Haven't used provider offered DNS since my first bout of trouble with it back when they were still Sprint. Suggest you move away from it to avoid when this happens in the future. Because IT WILL.

Find a local university DNS (Preferred) that has it published (Fewer nowadays) or go with something like an OPen DNS or Google DNS.
