Hmmmm....

Quite the saga !

So are you changing your DSLR avatar again ?

I hear that HiVolt has a gently used 'IPO Bell' animated avatar available.

( I always liked that one ! )

Yeah I'm going to change it. Just waiting to see how this whole saga ends.

To be sure, Start really did well on this. I know I'm not easy to please and I'm more than a bit of a boor, so they're coming up roses on this one.... big time.

Likely just because you're on G.DMT which won't generally stick around on a FTTN account. If it still says that tomorrow (and after a reboot) just PM me or email/call in and ask the have the profile adjusted.

Yep. Fixed.

They bumped me to the ADSL2+ profile. The DL is at 17983 so I'm getting the full speed there but yeah, UL is capped at 888.

Mode: ADSL2+
Type: Fast

SNR: 11.6 / 5.7
Att: 13.0 / 5.0
Power: 8.8 / 12.9
Attain: 24248 / 896
Rate: 17983 / 888

super: 46794 / 50467
super errors: 826 / 63969

Considering the bullshit we had to go through to get this done, this is more than an acceptable outcome.

rocca See Profile, my sincere thanks to you and your crew. For getting this done (incredible), and putting up with me. Totally amazing.

Yeah, figured it would be ok in ADSL2+... Attenuation looked good. Upstream is what it is because of IKNS...

Amazing story! Thanks for all the details about how it was handled too. Only way I learn this stuff is from documented experiences like this.

Hahahaaaaa... yeah.

Doing the 2 routers 2 wans 1 network thing... just need to find some spare cycles to do that and some other things.

This working for a living is for the birds, isn't it?

We apologize most sincerely to those of you who visited this thread under the impression that it was in any way connected with crazy fast speed test screencaps.

But if you MUST have some of that, try this direct link : »Re: New 'Elite' tier in red areas

Here it be.
What I expected.

I was going to go with a dual wan, but decided just to cobble the two routers onto the same network, with the cable rrouter at 192.168.1.1 and the dsl router at 192.168.1.2 with DHCP disabled. Switching is as simple as changing my gateway when necessary.

Works like a charm.

I paid a lot of $$ for various Dual WAN routers, back in the day that they were bleeding edge.

So you can do it as you said with 2 regular routers ?

Sure. I did this exact thing when i had cable & DSL for a few years...

In fact, i still do that when i just have DSL... one router teksavvy login, the other bell login. a tray ip switcher and presto change isp in a flash.

El cheapo 7 year old netbook running XP.

I'll retest tomorrow after I massage the router a bit. It's running gargoyle/openwrt and set up to eat a 30/2 cable connection in Hamilton.
