Re: [INTERNET] When Can We Expect Cogeco to Increase Upload Band Great news, Thanks, I just received an email about getting an upgrade. Luckily, I'll be going on vacation so I don't have to wait for a long time haha..
Thanks for increasing it! |

Mike -- I've picked on Cogeco long enough. Who's next? Any volunteers? |

I went to the Pen Centre (St. Catharines) to pickup a new modem, and I asked the person if they will be increasing the upload speeds to 10Mbs, and he said around the beginning of August they will be. Good news! |

Of course, there will be no discount despite receiving lesser service than everyone else. Obviously. The Niagara area is slated to be around August 5th as well. I'm pretty sure that includes Fort Erie.
It could be that we never obtained a communication email address from the customers (or you if you called in). If that's the case, you wouldn't have received the email. |

| Ahhhh, fair enough. I know that there wasn't a communication address on file with this account. I actually signed up on the website and put one in *after* I heard about all this. I found it odd that Fort Erie wouldn't be included because we're running at least three 64QAM upstream channels on all the nodes.
You'll have to forgive me, as the pain of DOCSIS 3 taking forever to come to Niagara is still fresh in my mind even though it's been a year now. |

Stay tuned! I don't have an email but there has been some digging in my area. Can I start getting excited yet? -- Fluent in 3 languages: English, Sarcasm and Sexual Innuendo.

I was told it will begin in Ontario first. We will have the new speeds too for Quebec but at a later time (hopefully before winter but I don't have a fixed date yet). |

I just want to tell everyone who is not in a DOCSIS 3.0 area that if you go with Teksavvy they will let you use a DOCSIS 3.0 if you want to get the speeds. I am currently on 2 MBPS when in my area it is only suppose to be 14 MBPS. |

Is there any conformation that the upgraded upload speeds are coming to Niagara Falls? and if its city wide?
I've been all over Cogeco the last year or so trying to get a better upload. I still can't believe we are capped at 2Mbps its absolutely absurd. This is 2013. |

1 edit | Any eta for Chatham, we got docsis3 later than some. But hoping for better upload soon.
Edit, friend got an email today saying soon. |
|
 | Just got off the phone with Cogeco anxiously awaiting the new upload speed. Seen August 5th mentioned a few times so decided to call, but they told me the launch was August 6th and I can expect to see the new upload in a day or two. |

I just checked my speeds today and I am getting 3.5Mbps for upload and had 2Mbps yesterday. Wondering if Chatham is getting the upload increase to 10Mbps soon? |

The missed upgrade on the 5th is just another disappointment from Cogeco [Ultimate 30] The fact that they went and upgraded Ultimate 60 first is a kick in the teeth. I am on my last legs with regards to switching. I love Netflix and have begun to run into my bandwidth limit every month. I am sick an tired of having to ration at the end of the month. The 10m upgrade may keep me around for a while but if it doesn't work well or Cogeco doesn't offer unlimited shortly I am gone. |

I agree, we are paying customers as well, just because we don't pay as much that leaves us to second priority ? It's crazy how money can lead in situations, it may not be life or death but still, are we less loyal because we don't pay as much for our internet bill so we don't get an upgrade evenly? I know it's not easy and I have no idea what goes on but surely the rate of which the upgrade was given out could of been prioritized differently. |

I know it's not easy and I have no idea what goes on but surely the rate of which the upgrade was given out could of been prioritized differently. One thing I must note, they did not upgrade all Ultimate 60 customers. I am a business Ultimate 60 customer who did not receive the upgrades (Hamilton downtown). The rep told me I will have to wait until the 12-15th (despite the Ultimate 60 residential customers in the same area getting the upgrade), which is a huge disappointment. I was anticipating that business customers who pay more for the connectivity alone would at minimum receive upgrade along with the first wave of residential customers.
Unfortunately that is not the case. This appears to be not a case of who pays more but rather an upgrade plan centered around a select group of users. -- --Kradorex Xeron [an error occurred while processing this signature] |

| Business accounts are handled separately, so that's not surprising.
You should keep in mind that there are people in areas with only one return channel that are in a far worse place than you are by having to wait an additional week for your upgrade. |

I think this clears up most of the issues we have. The only thing is an exact schedule not being available, just a general time zone. Better than nothing. |
