Only 2 updates for XP Pro

i had an additional 2.. one was for "microsoft visual c++2010sp1".. the other was for KB2808679:

»support.microsoft.com/kb/2808679

KB2808679 was not included in the "critical updates" but was an "optional update".. it was not listed in the bulletin, which listed the other updates, either..

i wanted to check to see what the "KB2808679" update was for, before installing it, but i had some trouble finding a KB article for it.. i finally found one..

Update that protects from internal URL port scanning is available for Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012

Its almost like they are hiding this update.

The H Security (Heise) writeup on the current Bulletin release:

quote:
a privilege escalation hole for which an exploit is being circulated on the net remains unpatched...The public exploit allows anyone with access to any type of account to execute code at system privilege level – a guest account being perfectly sufficient...According to currently available information, all versions of Windows are affected.
