Verizon Wireless → Contacts at top of screen - Razr M

I have a Droid Razr and I have contacts at the top of my home screen like the first picture below.
My wife just got a Razr M and while we can put a widget for a contact on the home screen I can't get 4 to line up like on mine. Instead they look like picture 2 below which takes up far too much screen space.
Can anyone tell me how to get the contacts to look like mine?
BTW, my phone came with those contact spots already up there I just had to add the contacts.
