Re: [F@H] SMP Startup Error
Ooops, indeed. It would seem that the v7 installer leaves much to be desired. However, it runs more efficiently than v6, especially on the GPU. Although, it took a day to get running with 'a little help from my friends'
As a retired SE I find it confusing that modern software requires so many "updates" to fix bugs. It wasn't like that a decade or two ago. Software was designed with extensive descriptions, data dictionaries, flow charts, and pseudo-code well before actual coding began. Then we tested the heck out of it and there was never a need for "updates". Are objects, excuse me, strongly typed subroutines really that difficult for todays programmers to handle?
Today's scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through equation after equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality. ~ Nikola Tesla
