Motorola SB5101 Cable Modem, higher than 10mbs plans?

I have the above router, and it's only valid for 10mbs plans or lower for cable.

Routinely on speedtest.net, I can see that the line speeds (also verified on bandwidth monitors on my computer), that speeds can go above 10mbs easily.

The documentation online says that the router is good for up to 30mbs.

If I wanted to subscribe to a higher plan, will the router be compatible? I know that it is 'only' Docsis2.0.

Here's hoping. Thanks

the SB5101 is not a router. It's a modem.

Unfortunately, ISPs are limiting the use of docsis 2.0 for the health of the entire network.

Docsis 2.0 equipment is at their end-of-life. You will need to get a new 3.0 one. Upgrading to 3.0 will give you access to higher speeds tiers and a more resilient connection to congestion.
