Almost ready to get another MSI and the AMD setup looks tempting but wondering if the performance is worth the savings?»www.ncix.com/products/?sku=84159···oid=1342»www.ncix.com/products/?sku=84165···oid=1393

I have an MSI GT 60 ONE with the 3610QM + GTX680M with 16gb RAM and I'm pretty happy with that puppy. Anandtech had nice reviews on MSI laptops:MSI GT70 (Intel): »www.anandtech.com/show/7076/msi-···gtx-780mMSI GX70 (AMD): »www.anandtech.com/show/6949/msi-···notebook--How you can make the world a Better Place
Yeah the 680 bumps the price up about 500 bucks. I had a GT780DX for awhile with a 570 in it but had to sell.I am concerned the AMD processor would be a big loss in performance but the price is tempting.
I feel the MSI laptops, for the most part, are pretty darn good builds at decent price point. AMD lines may not offer superior performance but seem to deliver a good bang for the buck.Have you tried shopping other vendors for MSI?I haven't priced other builds like Sager or Clevo in over a year, but maybe there is an option there too.--How you can make the world a Better Place
Have you looked at CyberPowerPC or iBuyPower?
Yeah----problem is I'm in Canada so taxes and duty drive prices up. I loved the older MSI and 1300 bucks for that AMD setup is the best price I've found so far.
I used these guys after a family member pointed me in their direction: »www.powernotebooks.com/Custom-La···185.htmlDunno how Canadian orders would be impacted, but they are offering free shipping in the lower 48.--How you can make the world a Better Place
