Re: DVR plus recording space expansion comingMaybe they are trying to make it less laggy and more responsive? Would be nice to not have to have paused Live TV in order to rewind it.. in other words, it should always be buffering the channel you are watching...
Guess we will find out at 8AM tomorrow morning!! |

» DVR Plus HD and SD, choppinessSeems the hd mappings have been fixed for the channels I was having the problems with. The choppiness on the livewell network I was experiencing has also been fixed. |

Would that go to $7 for the extra space? |

Could go into detail about how it works to have both services. Having SA8300 and you hit the green DVR, what does that bring you? Can you record to the HD in your house or at Cablevision DVR Plus? Both at the same time? It goes to Plus first over the HD in your top box? Detail like that, and any more features. |

To access DVR Plus recordings you would tune to channel 1001. On a regular box pushing the DVR button brings up the DVR Plus list. You can't watch recordings from your SA8300 on another box. With the new guide you can choose where to record shows, DVR Plus or the SA8300 when you do it from to SA8300. You can be recording to both the SA8300 and DVR Plus at the same time, however since the new guide came out you can no longer initiate it to record the same show on both at the same time. |

"You can be recording to both the SA8300 and DVR Plus at the same time, however since the new guide came out you can no longer initiate it to record the same show on both at the same time."
I discovered this recently as well. I am pretty annoyed with this. There are times, for several reasons, that I wish to record a show on both DVR and DVR Plus. This change is a step backward. I hope it can be changed back to allow this. |

I hope it can be changed back to allow this. Several reasons? 1- prefer the playback experience on my 8300HD in family room - much better fast forward, quick rewind etc. But, might want to watch the show in another room - so occassionally like to record on both. 2- I have had occasions where a scheduled recording did not record or the playback is messed up. If a particularly important program then I have a back up on the other DVR. |

for anybody feeling lazy just go to channel 905 to upgrade your dvr plus. I went from having my dvr 78% full to 25% for just $2 more awesome upgrade much needed |

Be careful with channel 905. I used it and immediately every box and tivo in my house went black. I just got off the phone with them, took the poor woman 45 minutes to figure out what happened and then she had to completely redo my account.
Now my Cable Modem is rebooting every 10 minutes... if it does not stabilize I'm going to call them back later...
Not sure how a DVR+ upgrade can delete entire TV packages from the account but apparently it can... |

Yes, you can have 2 recordings of the same show. Use the DVR to schedule a recording there and go to a non-DVR box to record the show to Multi Room DVR. |

I just called Optimum and tried to add DVR+ to my existing setup and the guy told me that it was not possible to do because I have 3 regular DVR boxes right now and no regular boxes. He claims that the normal DVR boxes cannot record to the servers (which is not what I was getting from reading other posts and it seems to me as though it's a rather easy software update to allow a choice there). He was very adamant that it cannot be done unless I switch to at least one regular cable box...is that true? He told me multiple times that it's the only way and that he knows because he does it for a living (kind of a D actually, I was just asking and referencing other things that I had read).
So, can someone please set me straight? Thanks. |

I'm not sure whether it can be done from a technical perspective but the DVR Guide » optimum.net/downloads/cs ··· s_en.pdfstates in the footnotes at the very bottom Multi-Room DVR requires at least one (1) non-DVR digital cable box. So he was at a minimum following CV policy. |

So, can someone please set me straight? Thanks. You cannot set up recordings to DVR Plus from a DVR (8300) box. You would have to do it through the website or an app. So for that reason, I don't think they will give you DVR Plus without a non-DVR Box. |

I have one SA 8300 dvr and one new Samsung box I have always set my dvr plus recordings from my SA 8300 without issue The fact that you need at least one non dvr box is probably a cv policy rather than a technical reason |

Probably they had not tried with the new guide. Why not not simply leave out the first 2 lines and say said by dm145:Completely false How can you make a statement like this? I have one SA 8300 dvr and one new Samsung box I have always set my dvr plus recordings from my SA 8300 without issue
