That beeping really makes scanning an annoyance. Makes no sense either - the carrier itself tells you the scanner "found" something. |

The Beep off is in the sub menu.
I do not like RT Systems software.

It seems crazy to have it beep every time it finds an active channel - I imagine most people stop scanning after about a minute and never scan again.
What software is better? Will CHIRP work with this cable and radio? |

Kenwood supplies their own program - free of charge.
I didn't check to see if the 6 PIN DIN is the same as the Yaesu.
There is a version of Chirp for D 710 - it is bare bones compared to the factory Kenwood program. |
