Anyone ever gotten a refund?
Here's the short and skinny:
02-22-2013 Installed internet and TV.
03-21-2013 Internet and TV still not working. Cancelled service.
07-05-2013 Charged me another 100$ out of nowhere.
07-26-2013 Still no refund, still out 300$. Called for the 20+ time and still nothing.
Here's the longer version for anyone interested, otherwise I recommend skipping down to my question.
Was promised the moon and superior 15 meg cable compared to my wimpy 12 meg DSL.
Ordered early feb. Signal was bad day #1. Day #1 The contracter who installed it said that I should call the local office to have it looked into.
Over the next month I went to the local office at least 5 times, called at least 5 times, posted on here and PM'd suddenlink reps at least 5 times. Chatted with support at least 5 times. Wasted many hours / days of work time on vacation to be home when techs were here. No one was ever able to fix my problem, which was partially node and backbone problems, but mainly that my signal was just terrible, it was no better the day I cancelled than the day I signed up. They also could never get my TV working because we tried a couple cable cards and they still hadn't figured it out. I even have a string of posts here if anyone wants to go more in depth.

March 21st I just gave up. At this point I'm out 100$ for my cable modem, 200$ for my cable tv tuner, and 200$ for install and bills. 500$ total and still no solid internet. I called and cancelled. Thank goodness for the 30 day money guarantee. My thought process is by the time the refund comes in they should have my signal fixed and we can figure the TV out. I'll just sign back up.
07-05-2013 I get charged $97.49 from suddenlink. Still no refund or anything, but 2.5 months later I get charged another hundred dollars. I'm now out 300$ to suddenlink and 300$ in cable equipment I'm not using. Turns out the charge is equipment I didn't take back. One of the cable cards the installer left at my house while trying to get it working, an analog tv converter, and they claimed a modem but I never used their modem or ever even saw one (used my own). So that day, 07-05-2013 I took all the equipment down there, and was told it was all fixed, the refund is on it's way. Should be a week.
So february install, no stable internet or TV after 30 days so I cancel in march out 200$ to them. June I get billed another 100$ which is supposedly taken care of that day. Now it's almost July and still no refund.
Mind you I've called the main office or visited the main office once sometimes twice a week for months now. I was calling, texting, visiting, twice a week that first month. Since then it's been once every week or two. I've been told so many lies I can't keep my head straight. We found a problem, they've scheduled it, should be fixed so and so day, they didn't call you, I'll take care of that, I'll call you back, your refund was sent in the mail, your refund is being processed, its all taken care of it will be there in a couple days, he was supposed to call you I'll ask him again. I'm sure some issues were fixed in the process but dear lord. Never once, ever, has anyone ever called me back. Not to fix my signal, not to follow-up not to anything. NOT ONCE.
Supposedly my signal is fixed, finally, as of last week. It was 4 months of being unacceptable quality. Took 4 visits over 3 weeks to the local office in a row. The repairman at the local office was able to fix it in one morning. He said the problem was from the neighborhood amp to me. Fourth visit after no call or follow-up he told me it was fixed so I asked him to check the signal at the pole and call me, he never called me back but I was left a note at my house that says -4 / 40 so I'll assume that's the signal reading and it's fixed. The note literally just says -4 / 40 and that's it. My signal before was -6 / 27.
I called them again this afternoon and another rep said he would look into it and give me a call Friday morning because he's off work the next two days. He's the first person to ever give me his extension and name so I feel pretty confident he's actually going to do something about it. He said there's just a 21$ credit to my account and that's it. He doesn't see anything about a refund (facepalm).
And here's the question:
So that's my experience with them so far as a warning to anyone out there. Has anyone else ever gone through the refund process before or have any tips for me?
