[TWC] Update to TWC TV over Samsung Smart TVs
I didn't find this in any recent posts, so here's the updated news;
Time Warner Cable will launch its TWC TV application on Samsung Smart TVs this summer to allow its customers to stream its content directly to their TVs, which means you wont need to lease out a cable box from the company in order to watch its content. The TWC TV app will allow customers to access live programming from local markets as well as 5,000 hours of VOD content from nearly 100 television networks.
Update: Time Warner Cable contacted us to confirm the summer release of its TWC TV application will only offer the 5,000 hours of VOD content and not live programming. TWC confirms they plan on making live programming available for its TWC TV app on Samsung Smart TVs, but there has been no time frame set for the feature.
I was really hoping they'd roll this out as earlier press releases had indicated, but the live feed appears to be vaporware.
I'm glad that at least I can get most of my subscribed channels without a STB VIA Roku. I'm able to get most, but not all of our local OTA channels in Central Ohio with the clear QAM tuner.
Buckle Up. It makes it harder for the aliens to suck you out of your car.
