Re: Official 2013 CFL Thread

Ugly game tonight as the contest got so out of hand that Cuthbert & Suiter were wondering if Tim Burke would last the year. Fans were booing the home team at the beginning, but they seemed to have given up on the Bombers by not even caring anymore. Home crowd even chanted for Buck Pierce who now plays for the opposing team. It is not too hard to imagine that there will be massive changes in the coaching staff before the start of next season. I just wonder if the Bomber are going to reset yet again during this current season.

Yes you know things are bad when they give the 3rd string QB from the other team a standing ovation.

53-17..........UNBELIEVABLE.

Game 1 looked like a repeat of the Bomber-Lions game in that the Stamps just took advantage of Ti-Cats mistakes. Only difference here is Kent Austin is not in danger of losing his job though he looked upset enough this year that I would not be surprised if there are a number o off-season changes. On the other hand, reporters might not mind if Austin was removed as he always seems annoyed that he has to answer any questions. The coach only had to answer a couple questions after halftime. No need to embarrass to anybody.

Game 2 was another road victory for the Argos as this time they come back from being down 22-1 to score the last 33 points of the game. Kerry Joseph had to finish the game because Mike Reilly looks like he might have suffered a concussion.

Argos are unreal in the 4th quarter...........it's as if they know they can coast for 3 and then turn it on to win.

Joseph's a bum. Time to send him packing.

Wow. Kind of rough on the former MOP who was supposed to be the veteran 3rd-string QB this season behind Reilly and Nichols. Honestly I would have chosen Joseph in that situation over Jonathan Crompton, but who knows maybe Crompton might have done a better job.

I was feeling a little under the weather these past few days, so I only watched the Rider Nation game against the Als today. What happened to the Riders? Is this a repeat of last year where they looked like the class of the league and then slowly faded into the middle of the pack? I know there is no Kory Sheets, but the Riders cannot score. They were playing against the Als who has more of their offensive opening starters missing than the Riders. To lose to a top contender is one thing, but to lose to the Als who were on a 3 game losing streak? I think by now the Rider faithful have already pushed the panic button and are calling for members of the practice squad to be inserted into the starting lineup.

Not like this is anything new. Ti-Cats take an early lead in their game. Argos fall behind early in the game. Same thing happened today in game 1. Argos did score a major on their opening drive of the 2nd half, so maybe there be another comeback? Nope as the Ti-Cats were able control the ball for about half the 4th quarter on 2 possessions.

In game 2, Rider Nation snaps their 4 game losing streak against the Lions. Kory Sheets was back, so that helped the Rider's offense. That and the Lions put minimal pressure on Durant. I had to watch part of the game utilizing a stream that was barely watchable. So, the Lions did not exactly help my viewing experience as they once again wore those uniforms where nobody can read the numbers from any sort of distance.

It wasn't Two Times Lucky for the Lions Matte-Black and Orange uniforms. :-(

Man oh man are they ever inconsistent this year.

Although the Lions uniforms was a minor annoyance for me yesterday, today I was much more disturbed that Mike Reilly played. C'mon. The guy had a concussion last week. You are in last place and are not going to cross over. Why risk the guy's health for a meaningless game? I do not know if it was mostly bad karma or the Eskimos are just that bad, but the Eskimos fall behind 40-3 before Jonathan Crompton puts up some garbage time touchdowns to make the game seem closer than it was.

In game 2, there was no need to question whether it was bad karma or a bad team with the Bombers. What happened was simply that a defense led by Casey Creehan gets walked all over yet again. Stamps' offense puts up over 600 yards. Glenn passes over 300. Cornish runs for over 200. I guess the good thing about the Bomber is that there was no musical quarterbacks. Max Hall played the whole game. On the other hand, the offense did not score a single touchdown.
