A lot seems to be speculation, I mean I've yet to see anything official from TiVo. |

The analog tuners in the S4 have nothing to do with the waiver for the S5s, they're not going disable analog support for old boxes in software. |
not talking about the analog tuners in the S4. I'm referring to the overall existence of the S5 and them discontinuing advancement in software development of new features for the S4 since the S5 would then be their flagship and their primary focus of attention. |

Um you know that this happens all the time with any tech vendor, right? Same with the S3s, and the S2 before it...
But in this case since the S4 was way underpowered from the get go, upgrading to the S5s (which will be able to run the HDUI without making you go get a sandwich while it does stuff) will be a no-brainer for a lot of folks.
Yes, that's sad. |
I've had no problems with the HDUI since they optimized the software and enabled the second core on the processor. Only issues I have now is the Netflix not working right and the truncated program data. |

There are still many occasions where my Elite goes out to lunch at times in the HDUI, and all of the net apps are WAY too slow. |
Mmm gotta say the Xfinity app works great, same with the Web Video Launchpad, to bring the thread back on point. |

But half of Xfinity Tivo customers will still not get VOD apparently... |
that's news to me. Isn't that more of Comcast's fault? I mean every Premieres are capable of the VOD service, it's the cable provider that needs to flag the account to authorize it or whatever. |

Tivo and Comcast mutually decided to halt the deployment of VOD after about half of the pop was done. ATL is in the non-VOD half. |

Probably the best immediate feature of the Fall 2013 update for the Premiere is dynamic tuner allocation for Minis (ala Roamio).
"4-tuner Premieres that feed TiVo Minis no longer need to "reserve" a tuner so the Minis can watch live TV" |

The whole thing is crap since they never fixed Netflix and still no program description truncation fix. |

For all the Premiere's problems, I'm glad I didn't jump and get a Roamio because that whole tuning problem is a real mess. |

now, to wait until the rest of the country is rolled out. Anyone got any pull with Comcast to get this done quickly? |
