Have Linksys EA4500-Worth Upgrade to Netgear R6300?

Wondering if worth upgrading to Netgears R6300? That much faster? Any other advantages?
Advice appreciated, thanks

Not unless you buy the AC wireless adapter to go with it.

It reportedly has better 5GHz coverage than the EA4500.

Go with the R6300 v2. It is out now and has beamforming+ technology.
Although the R6300 v1 can utilize beamforming+ with a firmware upgrade.

I am still rocking a Linksys E4200 v1 and still have no need to upgrade. That EA4500 you have is still beastly and no reason to upgrade. Unless you like to do it just to do it. Would be a complete waste of money imo of an upgrade.

I have an E4200v2, which I believe has almost the same specs as your EA4500. Mine is still very fast, and I would not upgrade mine at this time. I had a Netgear router once (don't remember the model) and it sucked! I used my factory warranty and got a beat-up refurb one from Netgear, and it also sucked!

I have always bought linksys in past but this new R6300v2 is very tempting. I wonder how the Linksys EA6700 will compare.

I just had a bad experience with Netgear and had a couple of lemons. I would probably never buy another Netgear router. However, I'm sure that they make some good ones also, like the R6300v2.

Buying a Netgear would be a big leap of faith for me. In the past I have bought 5 WRT54G, 3 WRT54GS, WRT350N and a E4200. I just wonder if the quality will be maintained now that they have been bought out. Thus the reason I was thinking of making the change. I go back and forth. I can see how a bad experience can turn you off. I have seen the same thing happen in the Linksys Forum. I guess it all depends on what you get at the time.
