[CATV] HSN and Cox

Yea, I do watch HSN from time to time and notice a lot of static on the channel, and this is from the cband feed. It reminds me of watching TV when I did have a cband dish. Why isn't Cox using their mpeg HDTV stream? They are even in letterbox which means they are either in 720 or 1080.

Ahh, the memories of analog satellite just came back to me.

What channel is it on? Is the static happening through a box or direct to set?

It's a 100 percent digital signal here so it's at their end.

It's on channel 9 here which is in SD section. Looks like letter-boxed HD content to fit a 4:3 screen. Image itself is fine here. I can hit HD Zoom on my DVR's remote one time to get the content to fill the TV with the proper aspect ratio since it's letter boxed on all 4 sides.

I never watch it or anything within the SD channel areas, except maybe some of the Encore channels that don't have HD versions.

From the FWIW department...

According to this HSN HD is only on a few HDTV providers...
