Using sliding doors and french doors in one doorway

I need to put a door in a five foot wide doorway that leads out to a deck. I am concerned about security and insulation but my legal requirement for light and air forces me to use a sliding glass door. I have 2 choices. Either I can put in an expensive anderson sliding door or I can put in a cheaper door and then a set of steel french doors that open out. Which choice is better in terms of security and insulation and which is more economical?

I'm confused

1) How you going to do 3 doors in a 5 foot opening?

2) Why is light an issue, you can get entry doors with glass panels? We have one in our basement that opens into our greenhouse. An one with a half panel for our kitchen entrance door.

5 foot is pretty narrow for a slider, means opening will be less then 2 1/2 feet. Not even sure if they make them so narrow.

They make 5' sliding doors but I don't understand the problem. Why can't a 5' hinged patio door work? OP -- can you give more info? Is this residential or commercial?
