With the subscriptions that I use, ABP keeps me safe on places where there are tons of malvertising - I am generally well protected.

My pleasure, as Dustyn See Profile and I have chatted in other threads, a list like »www.malwaredomains.com/ does overlap with a Hosts file as do some of the other lists.
While this can't be prevented, it's better to have a slight filter clash than no or little protection.

Looks like the internal update check still has no idea about the update.

Probably because it's not yet released by Add-ons
(v. 2.2.4 at time of writing).

Auto-update has never worked, regardless of option chosen.

Noticed that too.
I'm not sure if I should just install the .XPI? I'm assuming it will work with SeaMonkey, but I'm not sure if there is any difference between that and the release for Firefox?

The add-ons page still lists at version 2.2.4
»addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox···ck-plus/
But in the announcements there are issue comments with auto-update:
»adblockplus.org/releases/adblock···#comment

There are no "issues" with auto update...it's clearly stated by Palant " because AMO is taking its time to review the update €“ "

,,, the same info as already stated above...
