Re: Alternatives to Yahoo's Free WebMail - Pros & Cons

I stopped paying for Yahoo when GMail came on the scene since I didn't have to pay to get my mail off of their servers. I still check my Yahoo account, but they have to come up with a much better product to get me back. When I look at the performance differences between GMail and Yahoo I think Yahoo has a long way to go.

And in the meantime, Yahoo unofficially made their free webmail service POP-able, though some advice still states to the contrary.

I successfully collected my mail from 2 such accounts just over a month ago, and am about to do so again.

Thunderbird and Eudora each work fine for doing this, and there are pros and cons for each.
