I just bought a SB6141 and I use it with my Apple AirPort Extreme Router.
One of the advantages of owning a modem is you get to choose the modem you want. If you rent, you are at the mercy of whatever device they have on the truck or at the service center.
I think you missed the point. He is saying integrated modem/router devices have been universal garbage.
Owning a quality modem like the 6141 is a great idea and I'd guess that most people reading this thread do just the same. I too use a 6141. I forget I have it because it works so well.
