When I went to Bestbuy they only had version 2 in stock. Also on the side of the box where it lists the package contents it would say "R6300V2"
But here is a screenshot as seen in my first post of what version 2 box looks like. gate1975mlm, could you mention the BestBuy store location where you got it. I have asked in different locations but, it seems they have only R6300 V1. Thank you. |

Sorry to reopen this topic, but the ground work is already here. I'm considering getting this router & want the "v2". Should I assume the "v1" would not be available any more? If there is a possibility of a retailer or online retailer selling the "v1", is there anything on the box that easily identifies the version? Thanks! *Edit: I found a pic on Ebay of what I think is a "v1". Is this in fact that simple between boxes? |

Could be worse, I have a Dell XPS 15 with the WiFi issue. A new router cant fix that. |

I have been waiting for this to come out. I will have to take a look. Now it is whether I should buy this or wait for AD. Does it have USB 3.0? |

I upgraded from a WNDR4000 to the original R6300, man it was like night and day difference in speed and distance. Best router I have ever had.
My older Acer Laptop went form a best of 54.0 Mbps to 137.0 Mbps, my newer Dell Ultra Book XPS13 laptop connects at 300Mbps. My detached garage behind my house (House & Garage are Brick) barely had a signal with the last 3 routers of had, now it has 4 out of five bars with my R6300. |

Also even on 5GHz my notebooks Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 card only reports around 24.0Mbps. That is not normal right? I am pretty sure it was always around 300Mps when I first got my computer and I know it used to be a lot faster when coping files between computers.Yep I really think my router has just about kicked the bucket. |

If your WNDR3700v1 issues have to do with the USB ports ... those issues will not go away and I do NOT recommend using USB devices with either the WNDR3700v1 or the R6300v1 -- otherwise the R6300v1 has been a very solid performer and is significantly superior to the WNDR3700v1. Would you say both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz go a lot further then with the WNDR3700v1? |

said by kdshapiro:I have the WNDR3700 v1 and I have no issues with it, and rarely needs to be rebooted. I'm on an older version of the firmware. What issues are you having? Well the issue I am having is at random times when I click the home button on both my Grace Digital Radios either with Lan or wifi they say "Reconnecting to Lan". And when this happens the internet stream stops until the connection is back. It seems to happen at least once per day. I also have a netgear WiFi WN3500RP Universal Dual-Band Range Extender and that also sometimes disconnects and I have to unplug it from the wall and plug it back in again to get it working. Now of course I am not 100% sure my router is causing these issues but I have a strong feeling it is. Plus my WNDR3700 v1 is getting a tad old anyway. Also I have lots of devices like at least 10. And I am thinking maybe 10 devices+ is too many for the WNDR3700 v1. |

I saw over the the Netgear forums that the R6300 Version 2 is now for sale for $199.00 at Bestbuy. They say its lighter and smaller then version 1 and also has some other improvements as well like a faster CPU among others things. If my WNDR3700 Version 1 keeps giving me trouble I may just buy one of these. I would rather wait for the new netgear 802.11AD wireless routers but I don't know how much longer I can deal with my crappy WNDR3700. Anyone know if the R6300 would be a big improvement over the WNDR3700V1? » forum1.netgear.com/showt ··· 2&page=8 |
