It's been in the low to mid 90's here for several days now. Even on the coast towns it's in the 90's. I don't even feel like cooking since it's so hot in the rest of the apartment. |

I've been working in the Black Hole of Calcutta. Seriously, it's an 8' x 13' patio with a 9' brick wall at the far end. I have a couple of step ladders set up like a turnstile to get in and out. I had to tear apart a deck, then saw a defunct hottub into pieces and chunk it all over the brick wall to get ready to replace the siding. If it's 95 outside, it's 105+ in 'the hole' when the sun is over the yard arm, which happens around noon. Of course, being a Texican, I'm somewhat used to it. You Yankee amigos have my sympathy. |

It was 99 in the shade here today. I didn't even go outside today, except to bring the dogs in off the cable. This is the first really hot weather we've had this summer, unlike last year. I'm grateful! |

It's so hot that when I turned my oven on it was already pre-heated. |

When I am at work, I stick my head in the oven to cool down. |

It's so hot that by the time we got back from the grocery store, the eggs were already hard boiled. |

Much better this morning! 68F and drier air. Threw open a bunch of windows and cranked up the house fan to get some much needed fresh air into the house. Looks like mid 80s this week and some humidity but thats sooooo much better for those of us who work outdoors. |

Things are cooling down!Tonight it is supposed to drop into the lower 50's!
I don't know how I survived the "natural" heat last week with it being 90+ degrees outside.... and I am working in a hot restaurant kitchen too!
LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER...... |

Re: Things are warming up!Dom, you should be drinking Gatorade, so that you don't dehydrate and lose all your electrolytes! And, it's been deliciously wonderful here! It's 60 degrees out now, and it's just awesome outside. If I had a nice hammock to sleep in, I'd be asleep on the front porch right now. Screenshot is from BeWeather on my BlackBerry. Best weather program I've ever had! Too bad they don't make it for laptops. Oh, I'm about a 5-minute drive from Valley Park; I live in an unincorporated area, so this is the closest location to get my weather.

I had to turn on my heat this morning, for a quick moment. My house cooled to 56 during the last couple cool days and nights. |

Sister is going up to Cape Ann (MA), I hope it is warm enough to swim there, the beach up there is cold even in the summer time, I sure wish I could go! |

I took a digital thermometer into the 'black hole' this afternoon. Big mistake. The temp was 133.4 when I crawled out at 3 pm. Austin broke a record high with 105 (in the shade). It's just blinking HOT! Good news is, I should be able to finish the job tomorrow. |
