freelancer uses them, they are much richer target to sue.
Apple has better things to do. But if Samsung use them, watch out.

I can see the value in removing archaic features and replacing them with new innovative ones. But what progress did we make by replacing the regulars list with white space?

Microsoft has an issue, while pleasing and relatively comfortable (I could argue about that) for their existing customers they getting eaten alive by a new paradigm, tablets, touch and smart phones. They were (are) crippled by their heritage.

They are. And it's because they're stupid to understand, that the bundle, that they have created, can't be used in all hardware cases and, because of this drawback, the bundle will eventually kill the whole Windows OS.

The bundle I'm talking about is a fusion of essentially one program (Windows Explorer) into the OS component itself. The bundle, that their marketing department was working hard on for many years, convincing everyone, that OS is how Windows Explorer (including its famous Start button) looks like. We all remember BS, that Internet Explorer (smaller brother of Windows Explorer) is inseparable part or the OS. It was too the part of the marketing campaign to keep the bundle strong. And you may recollect that the development of the Windows OS's (after Windows XP) was all about how big and colorful icons are, how transparent borders surrounding all windows look, how many items you may see at once from a program's menu (they called it a "ribbon"). None of those changes increased the value for customer, that need OS for his work done. But they (the changes) were all about how it (new and always "better then ever" OS) looks for dumb consumers... Now they got what they want - we all are convinced that Windows OS is how it looks. But now it becomes obvious, that the way how it looks this time it can't be used in smart phones and even tablets... Hence, there is the conflict, which they can't resolve with the old strategy. And the current management can't change that strangely either. And as a result the pitch man, that was behind all of that, now have to resign...

If they were smart, they'd offer two separate components in their products: kernel part of OS and separately - "how it looks" component, Windows Explorer (or any similar Program Manager program, Metro UI or whatever). Ironically, they even mentioned about that approach many years ago (MiniWin, remember?). But voice of a pitch man form marketing (jumping on the stage like a monkey, yelling around) was much louder than common sense in that company. And the result we all see now...

Boy, people in general seem to find the smallest things to complain about.

Never even noticed it before till you pointed it out.

Anything changed with the security certificate? I know of a user that is getting prompted by his browser that something is fishy with the secure portion of the login/ site.

I tried the secure site on my browser and also got a notification it was fishy.

on the home page, the snowden video is fishy because the preview that you click to get the video to play is from a non-http server, that is all.

I notice one can now quote highlighted text and the quote goes where the cursor is (didn't used to).

I like both changes. Thanks.

it doesn't go where the cursor is, but it goes at the bottom of the text already there.

It is surprisingly hard to cross-browser know where the cursor is.

You can also quote chunks out of other posts as well, not just the one you're replying to. just keep highlighting and pushing the button.

Jumpy text in text entry box has returned. (full reply and edit)

Cannot place cursor in the box without text jumping upward, if text is longer than box.

You fixed it again, but it has returned.

= = = = = = =

Quoting highlighted text looks interesting and I will try it.

However, the new label on the button does not explain that its previous function defaults if I do not highlight anything.

I had to try it to learn this.

BTW, is the jumpy text a side effect of the quoting mod ?

It seems to be higher than where PM appeared. However, a page auto-update seems to move it a little low, though still above where PM notices appear.

It doesn't bother me, though moving it elsewhere would also be okay.

Not going to change. Grow to get used to it. It only appears on pages with inbound traffic anyway.
