[DSL] Dry Loop reduced to $5

Hey Gang,

Starting today, the Dry loop fees in Ontario and Quebec are all $5 across the board and anybody who is currently paying for a Dry loop will see the rate change on their next invoice.

edit: TekTalk Unlimited/DSL continues as is... i.e. dry loop is free with TekTalk unlimited..

We had hoped to go live with this sooner but when the call volume went sky high.. we put the breaks on. Now that things have settled down a bit and that we have additional staff and more on the way still. We will finish rolling out the rest of the changes and promotions that we've had planned.

I'm posting this here now, however we will also be sending out a notice next week to all DSL users.

enjoy!

Nice. I hope Bell is pushed to eliminate that alltogether... I always wondered how come Cable incumbents never felt a need to charge for it, and Bell charged ridiculous especially for those who are in very small exchanges.

Awesome news! This has me considering switching from cable to DSL for the faster upload speeds. Hmmm...

Nice. Not much change for me in band A, but this will really help some people in higher bands.

Awesome! Looking forward to other (incumbant) gouge fees being eliminated in the future. *cough* modem

Thanks TSI!

Awesome news! Those dollars do add up over time. Great to see a ISP looking out for it's customers, not that you haven't been from day one

Awesome, my brother is Band F, and that extra cost was almost enough to push us to a cable connection instead of DSL.

So great news.

nothing for the west yet... still working on those new areas for Shaw and nothing on the Telus 50 yet.

I did make sure to get the west updates done first earlier this year though. Don't you go and start saying we're not showing you some love now

I take that back then , he is in Alberta, you should also edit this "the Dry loop fees are all $5 across the board"

and "we will also be sending out a notice next week to all DSL users"

"Across the board" sounds like, well everywhere, not just east areas...

and "all DSL users" says all, not some, good thing I didn't call him yet.

Sweet timing. Thank you!

Just asked you guys to upgrade from legacy to DSL 15. Figured the extra $7 will be worth it... but you just reduced that increase to only $2, yet I will see my speed become 4 times better and much more stable.

Happy to be a client!

wow this is great news i was paying like $9.10 . I am so glad i switch to Teksavvy around 2 years ago. This is the only company that I've experience that actually reduces your monthly bill. Couple months ago my 6Mbps 300GB service was reduce by $2 but i upgraded to 15Mbps unlimited. Thx Marc and everyone at TS.

The clock is ticking, you have until 2014 to introduce something new for the West.

I'm not Canadian, TSI Marc. Can you easily explain what you call a Dry loop?

Thanks!

Dryloop or "Naked DSL" is DSL service without an active telephone line.

Dry loop is a simple connection to the phone wires without dial tone for those of us who want DSL Internet but do not want/have a phone line.
