Re: Help Finding a Belleville ON ISP

I would recommend you see what Start Communications can offer in your area...
»start.ca/services/highspeed

And here is Start's forum here on DSLR...

Standard Cable Internet 14 Mbps 1 Mbps 150 GB $39.95

Price is ok, but that CAP is not.
Why such the weak upload?

Cogeco is upgrading their cable packages to 10M next month I believe which Start and others will get.

I don't know; as you can see by the varying speeds you have now encountered, there seems to be some confusion on the available speeds for these Cogeco D2 areas.

I still would have expected you would see 1.5M or 2M upload.

I'm not sure that the upcoming 10M upload improvement that jmck mentioned will be made available in a D2 area; but maybe there will be SOME improvement.

Give Start, or one of the others, a call, and try to get what is available clarified. Make sure the CSR is aware you're in a Cogeco D2 area.

The CAP is only download, your upload usage is not counted with Start. And all the providers offer the same upload.
