Re: [Tablet] Favorite Browser?

Dolphin with a side of Chrome. My ASUS RT-AC66R router won't load on Dolphin 10.0.1. Though it does with Dolphin BETA 1.3.1 or Chrome. I think Chrome is clunky, where many of the add-on's to Dolphin greatly add to it's usability. Normally I keep it on Desktop mode once in a great while reverting to android mode.

When awaiting a bus using the auto reload to see where the bus is in route saves time. Chrome would require a deliberate refresh. Once in a while if I need a bookmark or history from my desktop I'll open Chrome but Dolphin is the BOSS!

I'm using opera mini in my HTC desire.Opera is best out of all because of many reasons
1.very interactive interface
2.fast browsing
3.can easily be used from your thumb ..have large buttons
4. has a solid track record and data recovery
5.discover feature
6.speed dial
7.displays your favourite bookmarks

Chrome for it's syncing abilities. It seems to do the job well.

I agree. Chrome...I like the way it's bookmark management works. Syncs my substantial list of bookmarks perfectly.

I notice a lot of people like Chrome for its syncing. But Firefox does the same thing. I am sure there are other browsers that can do the same. Is there a particular reason people prefer Chrome's sync?

I don't know if it's been said but chrome needs to allow resize of text when you resize a page.. all the text is just off the screen when you zoom in.

That seems to be an area where a lot of the Android browsers could use some help. I have the same problem with Puffin.

I don't understand why the stock browser still can't block ads and popups.

What's the best free alternative in that regard nowadays? I use FF on my desktop, but when it first came out on Android it got bad reviews.

VRe: [Tablet] Favorite Browser?

I've been using Dolphin, made the switch from Firefox, but I find Dolphin uses a lot if data, does anybody else notice this? Previous versions of Dolphin weren't this bad.

FF seems to run better on Android now, and you can add the ad blocker extension to it which works well.

I'm giving FF a spin. Noticed some oddities including you can't scroll in any direction. You're limited to left/right or up/down; no 45° for large, non-mobile optimized pages like you can with the stock browser.

As someone with a few modded old phones and a few new ones, Opera Mini is the overall best with Dolphin with the jetpack HTML5 engine as a backup for pages needing more advanced scripting capability(very few pages render poorly in Opera Mini). Have opera set to http connection over Hola on my modded Wildfire S with JB(my take around phone) and it flies even on a 2G connection(You run into that on T-Mobile outside the city) and sips the battery. Battery is 1 area Opera Mini excels, which many don't seem to look at with browsers.
