Re: Canadian Big 3 Turning Up The Heat

I actually agree with the sentiment expressed that an entry into the Canadian market subsidized by Canadians (Not just Canadian taxpayers btw) by a US Giant will not be good for Canada. BUT, by the same token Robellus attempting to stifle competition is not good for Canada either!

The US Giant will not be getting the free ride to use existing infrastructure. Wind uses existing infrastructure where it doesn't provide service by roaming agreements that benefit Robellus. So will the US Giants ... where they don't have their own infrastructure, they'll pay for roaming.

Basically, it's a load of BS designed to scare Canadians into believing something that's marginally true. Just the same way they did in the SAVE LOCAL TV campaign with the LPIF.

It's amazing what partial truths can achieve with propaganda. It's what propagandists l live by.

And our 'beloved' big 3 will spend a fortune on the ads now, regardless of the ads' merit/truthfulness, in hopes of making an even larger fortune later on if the ads are 'successful'.

Shockingly from what I saw in the social feeds a while back, some people actually bought the LPIF BS!

In a way though, I think this new campaign is actually a very interesting and revealing one in a way which shows exactly who's in which position and what Canadians actually think of the big three. For instance, all of the carriers basically trashed their loyalty program years ago thinking they would never need it. As we can see now, no one is actually on the side of their carrier. So now even though the big three are attempting to steal and buy out the new carriers, they are so afraid because they actually have no loyal customers.

If anything even though the net effect of Verizon setting up in Canada may end up in destruction, it will also give a big wake up call to the greedy big three that they can't simply ignore their customers forever.
