 | Sonic highspeed DSL over ATT Uverse lines? Hi,
Maybe a question that has been asked before. I currently have ATT POTS and DSL (non-uverse), moving to new location where ATT says they don't have regular DSL available. It's Uverse or nothing. I checked with Sonic for new address, regular HS DSL is available(no fusion unfortunately)
My questions is, how is Sonic able to offer regular DSL over the same lines ATT says regular DSL is not available. ATT probably pushing their more profitable Uverse product and lying to me. But how do I know Sonic can deliver regular HS DSL?
Thanks in advance |

 | I believe it has more to do with AT&T's internal sales policies than any technical reason. If they can offer their newer Uverse, then that's all they'll sell new customers. |

Sonic can offer it because AT&T has to let them use their copper. AT&T is migrating their ADSL stuff to U-Verse and thus don't want new ADSL users if they can prevent it. Easier to decommission older hardware and switch users if there are less that need moved over. |

| AT&T does NOT have to let Sonic access to their U-verse network. That network is NOT shared. Sonic would get access to the aDSL network limited to 6megs but that is it.
AT&T does though allow certain resellers on the U-Verse network but prices are not all that great and not every company can obtain access. They are far and few between. |
