[Internet] TWC speed increase ALL Tiers and Division?

Today after replacing the J box i was only getting 50mbps now im getting 60 mbps i've had TWC resend the config file reset everything to factory defaults and yet i still get almost 60mbps... heres a video showing this and does anyone know why i would be getting almost 60mbps down instead of 50 with 8 bonded down stream channels and a new J box? the other box that was in the line for these buildings where old and head 2 broken Ports for coax

»youtu.be/2kzu8slIBVQ

does anyone know why? twc said its probley the new J box and cause theres less static in the line??

over provisioning as TWC does it for extreme as well I get 31Mbps to 32Mbps on extreme all the time. Nothing new.

they have done it with ultimate and extreme in Texas since it was rolled out probably because TWC sees ultimate and extreme as premium tiers

Overprovisioning. One of my neighbors' 50Mbps/5Mbps connections locks at 55Mbps/5.3Mbps when the node isn't loaded down.

TWC has tinkered with the tiers as my 32 down and 5.2 up is now 35 down and 5.9 up so yes TWC did do a speed increase

looks like a speed increase or at least a reliability increase as before the config change my speeds would bounce up and down all the time during the peak usage hours.

he was shocked that TWC has done something without notice. I am as well. I was wondering why I was getting speed tests of about 34Mbps which I usually do but they only lasted a few seconds now it is constant.

hmm I wonder if this thanks to 8 channel bonding plans or At&t Uverse's planned 45/6 tier? I have heard that North Texas was supposed to be a test market and I am in a Uverse area so maybe they are testing in select areas?

yep it looks like they changed the configs

so now:

30/5 is 35/5.9
50/5 is 60/5.9
75/5 is 88/5.9

Hmm since you said it. I already test my roommate's internet connection and got this

We always get exact 14.43 mbps or sometimes less. Now we get 16mbps. Interesting.(We have Arris DG860)

Now I just wish I was provisioned at 20-25 up or so, and I would be very content!

at least they are giving us a better chance at hitting 5Mbps I can get 5.4 all the time but I bet during the day it will be like 5.7 or 5.8 if I am lucky

Looks like this is also on the Turbo 20/2 tier... I have never seen speedtest.net give me speeds above 20 / 2 on Turbo..

I am getting:

This is while listening to some stream and uploading 128kbps ...

Tried another "site"

appears they are now "over-provisioning" their tiers (as the OP indicated).

hmm I don't think that is really over provisioning compared to what TWC uses in their markets that they have had a while before the insight buyout. A least I hope they are not only doing 22/2.1 for Turbo for the overprovisioning. Unless TWC is still treating the 30, 50, and 75 tiers as a premium service that may be why we are seeing speed increases finally as standard was 10/1 went to 15/1 and turbo was 15/2 and went to 20/2.

I stumbled on it by doing a bandwidth meter on my old WNR1000 Wireless N router that I was messing around with and checking out to make sure it still works as I am going to be giving to a church for a project that I am working on for my college senior project

It's possible even tough on 08/01/13 I was seeing:

Today is the first time I have seen anything above 2.0.. I am ok with it =) Now if they can just improve the Insight CMH area to do 30/5, 50/5.
