I made a move request mid july,I was told that Rogers would be coming to my home Saturday August 3rd and I was to be here during the hours of 8-1pm. I just called teksavvy this morning to confirm as I had heard nothing, sales told me they had no information other than a confirmation number and that date was a tentative date, then i was constantly told and reminded about Toronto flood, what the heck????I have waited 10 days now since my order, and am I expected to wait everyday tentatively between 8-5pm till Rogers decides to show up? I am a video producer, my entire home and occupation relies on your Internet service, I just paid out 200 dollars for a move, modem and the months Internet, and after 10 days of patiently waiting, I am told to continue to wait with no set date?
Please fix this situation.
If you read through the forums of late, you'll see that this is something Rogers has been doing for a while now...screwing with the installation dates for TPIA. The guys on the direct forum will probably be able to get you a set date, but even then Rogers might just not show up. It's pretty disgraceful. Out of curiosity, I'm wondering why Rogers even needs to show unless the house is disconnected from cable entirely. If cable TV works, for example, your cable internet should work without any tech visit.
As a side note, if your business relies on internet connectivity, you should absolutely not be relying on a single home internet connection. It will go down at some point, no matter who your provider is. The number of times we've had people on these boards howling that they need their connection for work and that it is down is horrific. Home internet service isn't guaranteed and can't be relied upon by businesses.

What we mean by tentative is that the date requested is not set in stone until our vendor confirms with us. You do not have to wait every day until some one shows up. We will receive a confirmation from our vendor which we will inform you of. Unfortunately, our vendor currently has 5 days delay in our requests. Very sorry that you were not made aware that the date was tentative with a more in depth explanation. I'd like to see where your account stands, could you PM me your account information and I will take a look.
