I have the 6580 used purchased from Ebay and has a firmware SBG6580-6.5.0.0-GA-00-226-NOSH , any one has the software version? My built-in wifi gets disabled after hitting the TWC signal, anyone has the same problem? so far level 3 tech couldn't figure it out, they did mention I may have the wrong firmware and since I own the modem they couldn't do anything about it. |

Your modem is provisioned wrong. WiFi shouldn't be disabled on a customer owned modem. Contact TWC.
As far as firmware, TWC will push out an upgrade when they get around to it. You can't request it and you can't do it on your own. |

ok, it seems like the firmware I have in my sbg6580 is for Comcast(SBG6580-6.5.0.0-GA-00-226-NOSH) so the previous user must had it with Comcast, looks like TWC firmware is SBG6580-3.5.8.2-GA-01-488-01-NOSH, now the question is how do I get that firmware? should I just leave it plugged in and I will get it eventually? do u think the Firmware conflict is the problem of my no wifi? |
