[DSL] VDSL2 vs ADSL2+ network areas.

This is just a tech question, because I'm not particularly interested in changing services/providers.

In my area FTTN is not available (Lambton County area).
I was just wondering If there are any compatibility issues between VDSL(2) modems and older DSL networks provided by Bell?
Which brings me to ask, should I be expecting them to bring forth better/faster services anytime in the next ~5-10 years?

The original VDSL modem was the Cellpipe which is VDSL only. The current VDSL modem is the Sagemcom which does ADSL2+ and VDSL so you at least should end up with some form of link when Bell screws up your profile.
