Rolling out 10Mbps tomorrow? Supposedly

I'm in Niagara and I've received word that tomorrow our upload speeds are supposed to increase to 10Mbps. I thought I would just make this thread quickly so that people could post here to let everyone know that they've seen improvements tomorrow. Thanks!!

Don't forget to reboot your modum prior to checking bandwith.

»Re: Cogeco Internet and Cable Promos - Renewing them?

Upload increases are currently slated to begin August 8th, and speeds will be increased over several weeks for our customers.

Anyone know if Burlington is part of this upgrade? Specifically areas like Headon Forest, Millcroft...

Is that for all areas Aaron?

I've seen other customers saying August 5th or 6th? As you can see there's a lot of us waiting for this much needed upgrade

What exactly do you mean they will be increased over several weeks?
Does that mean that some areas will get the upgrade before others? Or does that mean that the upgrade will come in pieces, such as 4 Mbps then 6, until it finally reaches 10?

Will the upgrade take place on the 8th for everyone who received the email?

Internet upgraded for me at just after 2:00 AM, August 6th.

Yay!

(note: using wifi in a concrete building. So, it's not at full speed. Wired gives out a solid 10.03 Mbps up, 62.14 Mbps down)

Edit:

Just did another test on a computer connected via ethernet.

I just did a test, but it looks like I'm not getting the full 10 Meg up. I see that I still only have one channel on the upload in my modum, maybe this is the reason.

I just reset my modem and am still at 2mbps upload on the Turbo 20 package, it looks like Ultimate 60 customers receive the upgrade first.

I'm on ultimate 30 and after a reset I don't have the upgrade yet. I'm in the West End Of Hamlton.

Yeah, no go on the 20 and 30 accounts that I have access to right now. I had reset the 20 modem prior to doing a test. Both are still 2.

Did you need to reset your modem to see this or did it just show up?

Asked @cogecohelps on twitter when St. Catharines would get the 10Mbs up, and they are now saying "we're looking at mid September for this area. Hope this helps".

A little disappointing if true, especially since I asked the person at the Pen Centre when I was picking up my new modem (for Turbo 20), and he said the beginning of August the new upload speeds will kick in.

It came up on its own. Didn't have to restart anything.

Are you Kidding me ry4?

I can't stand the constant false hope we get from this company sometimes. Most disappointing thing I've heard all week.

Hopefully the person is wrong, and it does change over within the week.
I noticed someone else from Niagara asked on Twitter and they had the same answer. Mid-September.

Typical. Niagara getting anything when Cogeco launches it rather than having to wait months for it is too good to be true.

That, or the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. Also typical.

In St. Catharines as well, still hoping for the increase soon. Hopefully its between 6th - 8th, and not actually a vague 'Mid-September' that will turn into October. I would put more faith into the reps posting here for fact, than the Twitter though.

Also, everyone on 60Mb/s got the increase, so is it not region based, and more plan based?

EDIT:
»twitter.com/Cogecohelps

I got a response too. That's twice they have said Mid-September now. Perhaps the reps on here were given misinformation about the Niagara region.

I can confirm that I do not have 10 Mbps service in the north end of St. Catharines but I did receive the update email advising it would be happening at some point this month so I'm not unhappy...

I just hit up speedtest.net. I can confirm that I'm uploading at ~10Mbs as of this morning in Niagara Falls.
Thanks Cogeco!

Does the upload upgrade include TPIA providers, such as Teksavvy? Also in Niagara (St Catharines)
