Re: [TV] Bright House BHTV for Web Browser Now Available! I only tried very briefly before I left today, but I couldn't get the live tv part to work. I will monkey about with things more when I get home. Could be an add-on that doesn't agree with it. I know I had that problem with HBO GO. Do we know if it will work if I have a static IP? I thought I heard something about that a while ago with regards to the iOS version of BHTV. |

If you have a static it will not work just like BHTV apps for mobile devices. I can fix that however but it needs to be in direct with the usual info. |

GeNomer join:2013-01-21 Indianapolis, IN | No worries, I should be able to have my router to grab the dynamic ip from the modem instead of one of the statics. I only really have the statics for my server anyway. I'll post in direct forums if I bungle things, lol. |

Steve Mehs.........I've read your resonse several times......I don't get it. I have Team Viewer installed on all my PC's. Neat program, and its free. I stopped using the Microsoft Remote connection after a Tech Support person at Dell showed me Team Viewer. Is your example using 2 PC's? Could you be a little more specific in steps...... |

I had Team Viewer installed on my desktop at home, installed in on my laptop. When I left for my road trip, I left my home desktop on. When I got to the hotel, I was in an area with great Sprint Wimax coverage, plugged in my Sprint USB air card, got online, launched Team Viewer and logged on so I could see my home desktop. As I was controlling my home desktop, I just launched Internet Explorer and went to twctv.com, logged on with my Time Warner credentials and I was able to stream on my laptop from my home connection. I always carry a spare HDMI cable in my laptop bag, so I just took the HDMI cable out, and hooked up my laptop to the cheap Vizio TV in the hotel. -- 4/17/13 - A Beautiful Day For Freedom, Thank You United States Senate! I've decided to go ahead and do this Gary... another direct forums post needed? If not, I'd like to setup sometime this weekend for someone to come out.
Edit: Wait a minute, if a new modem is installed, will only the PC's/router hooked up to that modem work? I am confused how all this works.. you're saying, I would have two modems here? |

Awesome -- I love it. My daughter can now watch her Disney XD and a few other kids channels in her room that were only available from the living room using our DVR.
I did have to warn her only to click "Watch on PC" though.
But the fact that she now gets her "other" kid channels in her room without having to rent an STB is awesome. We're planning on getting her a 24" PC monitor after we move and that will allow us to save on furniture space by letting her PC monitor double as her TV.
Her complaint? But then I can't play my computer games AND watch TV at the same time!
Thanks again! |
|
 | If you are getting her a 24" monitor, then add that to her current monitor and she can play her game on one screen and watch TV on the other. |

Why does this require signing in with a My Services account? If you're accessing the site from your home, the site should recognize you as a customer and let you in. -- ...Who, What, When, Where, How... Why? Why Not? |

I don't know if you recall, but we had a discussion in the direct forum a couple of months back regarding the Android version of BHTV and my inability to access the program guide. I'm having a similar issue with the browser version, in that I can scroll the list of channels on the left, and can select one and it plays just fine. If I attempt to load the program guide, it displays the "loading channels" message box and goes no further.
At this point, all I can think of is that my My Services account is (to use a highly technical term) haunted.
Any ideas? |

Is there a way to set up users? In my daughter's room, I don't want to give her our main BH login credentials so she can use the BHTV feature on her PC. It would be cool if we could add a user with their own login/userid so it could be different than the main one for our cable service account. |

Tech, let me get this straight, this web app is only working because it it tieing directly to one of my cable boxs? So with 2 people watching the 2 cable boxes in my house I CAN'T use this app without controlling one of those boxes? |

Is there any reason why some channels are not available to watch on PC?
Specifically, NBC Sports & the Fox sport channels are not available.
Will this change, or is it because of the NBC Sports Extra option (which I don't think BH has yet). |
