Anyways, this is why I cannot "cord cut" yet because I know once I do, I would easily hit my cap so fast. Yet I can watch all my favorite tv shows and more on Xfinity without eating up bandwidth.

Well i'm on a triple play promotion for two years (and this was given to me as an existing subscriber, just had to agree to a new two year contract, lady also told me i could call again after two years and be put on the same promo again, not sure if what she said was true or not but I will give it a shot either way )

159.99 gets me:
Xfinity Blast Internet
Xfinity HD Premier - all channels , sports package, all premium channels (HBO, Starz, Cinemax, Showtime, etc)
HD DVR included
Xfinity Voice (unlimited local and nationwide calling and texting)

So really if you were to break that down, i'm paying 60 for the internet, and 100 for tv/voice. (of course you add on taxes and the gateway rental fee which is 7 bucks)

well..there you go..with all the included channels, there's really no need for you to watch online then...

I was paying the same amount as you are with AT&T DSL [3.0], basic phone [no LD, only local with caller id, call waiting] and DirecTV but without the premium channels. And even if they include it, my kids only watch disney while me and wifey watch news and local channels..

in the end, I cut DirecTV and AT&T and went with Comcast Starter Biz for $70 / month. phone runs on google voice via obi100.

That's the thing though, Netflix now has all these shows I really want to watch. I started House of Cards and instantly fell in love with it, never got around to finishing it. I also want to check out Orange is the New Black and even though it got bad reviews, Lillyhammer. Amazon is also starting to do the same thing.

Also I have no use for the phone, I just found it's cheaper to go with the triple play which is why I have it. I already have AT&T for my cell phone provider and pay around 100 for minutes that I never use up that are rollover, 3 Gigabytes of data, and unlimited messaging/mobile to mobile calling. And honestly, I find myself making voice calls less and less these days, texting/imessaging/Voxing is much more convenient

it was your choice to take that 2 year contract instead of re-assessing your needs / wants...

i'm paying $30 for my Tmobile plan, eldest son has a gophone $25 monthly, wife has the .10c a minute plan as she hardly talks or texts since she's got a employer issued phone as well...

we're all down to basics that satisifies our needs without any contracts at all...

Comcast now allows month to month for business class accounts?

I know that several years ago that was allowed if you were willing to pay a hefty upfront installation fee, but I thought that they had discontinued that option. I know that I had to sign a contract. I signed for three years, but the minimum contract was for one year, and it automatically renews for another year at the end of the current contract period (I have to give 60 days written notice prior to the automatic renewal date to terminate the service).

I had a troubleshoot call made at 8am on a sunday...tech showed up right after lunch as advised. Keep me happy, I'll keep giving them my business.

What that contract costs you each month is irrelevant, and your previous "without any contracts at all" statement does indeed imply month to month. The auto renewing business class contract and having no contract are indeed two different things.

I am also pleased with the business class service that I have, but I don't fool myself into believing that I do not have a contract.

Actually reading a contract that you sign is advisable; there is no question about Comcast Business Contracts auto renewing (and ignorance of the terms of the contract does not invalidate the contract).

I do agree that some posts need more than one grain of salt to make them palatable, and the whole purpose of my posts in this thread was to verify homework is done and that erroneous information does not cause problems for others.

I totally agree...

I could not stress enough the importance of making sure you do your homework and read / ask questions when you are presented with a contract.
