Re: Westlinkcable.net and Westlink Cable is a scam
Just to let everyone know I hae started up westlink reports again but only because I have been seeing others that are getting screwed up Shaw so I just put It up to get there attention and I'm starting to see that with Teksavvy down east that people have been having issues and such. Big companies need to get there act together before someone like me makes and puts out that they are a bad company. I'm not doing that westlink reports for WestLink Cable I'm doing It for other customers go signup directly with Shaw. Has far I've seen they need to wake the hell up.
I just started an ISP. CalgaryCableServices. Give me a try. All I require is:
Your Drivers license info Passport number Scanned gov photo ID like your medical card or Driver lic. Mothers maiden name S.I.N. Address Phone number Alternate contact number 300$ down payment (1st month free!) You get free voip A free proxy and Free OTA TV ($6.95 CRTC fee extra)
Why are people even entertaining this creep? Seriously?
Westlinkcable.net is the latest in a a long chain of scams. It started with Cable Gator, at least on this site, but at this point the scam is Westlinkcable.net.
Since you have used them on WIFI, you already have a good idea of what they are like. If you want to know further then I suggest reading up of Telus and their practises towards wholesalers's/reseller's users.
Montreal DSL resells teksavvy services, teksavvy dsl is in Calgary, yes DSL, an option robb said he'd never go with.
But have no choice not to I don't wanna go straight through Shaw and don't wanna go back to Distributel because all they carry Is 25mbps Internet I want faster! Unlimited Internet thankyou. Plus Shaw Is messing up so no thanks on getting them either reseller or not I'm going with a telus provider until shaw gets their shit together.
I also wish to mention that I get MY Cable Internet from an independent ISP called 'START Communications', who DO have blocks of their own IP addresses (unlike WestLink Cable etc), DO provide service to people who pay for it, and do NOT require the fudging of a speed test result.
On the Cogeco network, they are solid technologically, and START's customer service is very good to excellent.
They even do followup calls to check that installs/repairs went properly.

I was going to start an ISP called Binary ISP ... you can get anything you want at Binary ISP. One time set up fee of $65536 payable in daily installments of $8. Monthly fees of $256 payable annually in advance. Plus modem cost, plus PVR cost, plus phone ATA cost, plus router cost, plus computer cost, plus wire cost plus technician install cost plus incumbent passthrough fees, plus daily viewing fee for TV, plus local internet improvement fee plus local TV improvement fee plus longdistance plan fee plus cost of explaining your bill in case you dont understand it fee plus billing fee, plus regulatory recovery fees plus taxes.
I almost forgot the fees for the Mandatory Options ...
Mandatory Options . New modem required every 6 months since we don't push new firmware to existing modems . New phone number every year because we accidentally gave it away to the somebody else and they won't give it back . Snowfall insurance fee in case we have to dig up your cable under snow (fee payable monthly even in summer) . Squirrel insurance fee in case squirrels chew your cable . Carpenter ant insurance fee in case the wall that the cable that goes through is destroyed by carpenter ants
Then the most important fee ...
The fee increase protection fee which for $4 per month protects you from increases in fees for 6 months then after 6 months your rate will increase to the then prevailing rate and the protection fee will increase by $1 per month.

the whole reselling is a secret! Well, the use Montreal DSL on this very forum has admitted to it, and yes, teksavvy uses the telus network in Calgary. -- WestLink Cable is DEAD Good job DSLR!
Re: Westlinkcable.net and Westlink Cable is a scam
Yes they sure do I used to be a TekSavvy Customer and loved the service now that I found a different reseller with more speed ill be going with them and I really have nothing to say bad about Telus I find they do better then Shaw does.

So whom would they be? You must be paying an arm and a leg for speeds like that.
