Re: Payday 2 Release..

It was a fun run with you all over the weekend, going strong at level 32 Mastermind, double medpack, crowd control and insta rez are really helpful when shit hits the fan.

We got Diamond Store pretty good by now, we need a resident ghost for those stealthy missions, but I've been reading that MAstermind/Ghost is pretty good at it so when I get enough levels/Money I will branch towards it.

MPRMH is my resident ghost and metal/Arch resident tech
Usually you try to cap the tree your in, or at most put entry level points into the other trees.

The best Ghost is a Mastermind. I've gotten all the good stuff out of the engineer, so I've been going down the ghost tree.

I will probably screw around with a Tech/Ghost setup, specializing more on breaking into places. There's a bigger benefit for that on the multi-day runs but not much on the stores that are "on farm" like Diamond Store.

Agree with both of you MPRMH is an awesome ghost too. I need to start doing some solo stuff to learn the buildings from inside and to locate the NPCs so I can start helping on those sneaky missions.

It will be awhile, but once I finish off what I want out of the enforcer tree I will likely go deeper into ghost. Reducing movement penalty+bag interaction speed+super throws will be awesome.

I think my build worked out to 58 Enforcer 46 ghost, and 7 in the other 2.

Oh we are doing frame a frame... ok MPRMH you do your thing, I'll sleep.

Frame a frame and oil rig should be easier with a Mastermind, since you can take more guards down and use their pagers.

I haven't researched this game at all, is there a single player campaign also with it?

There is an offline mode where you can do heists locally.

Campaign? No there is no storyline per se, just story for each individual heist . It really is best as a multiplayer co-op.

Big Oil is paying out huge in $$$ and XP. I'm picking up a full level even in the 50's. I think it was something like 60k+ XP and upwards of 1mill on pay out.

Don't go into that map unless you know someone who can carry you or until you read the guides. You've got to actually think on that map. I was able to run the second day on full stealth with Energy and a buddy of mine at work. It was pretty sweet.

Sweet enough to consider going Mastermind.

Actually I think it is almost 80k if nto more in XP and pays out a cool half mil with overkill ~340 on hard. If we can get stealthing the first day down, it would be super easy.

Luckily we know how to find the engines now without a problem which can make recovering from when shit hits the fan. Although we lucked out in being able to see the servers in that one upstairs room.

The multi-day ones have definately been buffed to make them worth it.

Ranger, the guy I work with, said that he was able to almost completely do Day 1 stealth. I think the dominator is required and quite a bit of patience.

I also got some advice on Dominator so I don't get handcuffed again, haha.

Update 13 has made judging weapons and concelment a lot easier. There are clear benefits to dressing and equipping for stealath rather than just running heavy.

The number of specials that spawn in the same wave seems much higher, but at the same time armor seems more effective so it balances out somewhat. XP bonuses for the harder difficulties are much higher now, while pay is only slightly higher.

Good games last night, in trying out different mission stealthing. Even though we had a control freak I still feel the tellers in the bank need to die for pressing that fucking alarm too many times.

After a re-spec his is my new mastermind build so far at level 53, a super utility build that I have been enjoying a lot:

Bonus to the group:

30% more XP on days and jobs (good while leveling)
30% more health when I revive a party member
50% more stability with all weapons for the team
65% more stamina for the team
2 full med packs
75% chance to revive a team member by just shouting at him (love it)
Massive crowd control range and power.

I will put one skill in Control Freak and I am not quite sure about pistol messiah, it may be worth a shot. After that it will be time to branch most likely into ghost.

This was going to be my suggestion, but you may or may not want to wait a bit until level 65-70. Just don't put anything further into the tree so you don't waste as much money before respeccing.

I really like this idea, I am not sure how the coverted AI would work with the team.

DO you think only one point or going for ace?

What are your thoughts on pistol messiah?

I feel that it could be good for those times when everybody is bleeding on the floor but not quite sure how that 1 shot would be effective.

It's a great idea in theory, but on overkill the police do to much damage, you'll end up in full bleedout(no weapon) before you can use it effectively. It's a waste of points.

Ace joker, the AI is pretty mediocre, however your converted officer will take a lot of punishment(more if he's the tan FBI) and does decent damage.

It's worth it just to have another meatshield, if they are shooting him, they aren't shooting you.

The key is to find the balance to dominate them. Sometimes dominate just never seems to work, and when you are newer at it, you will often take A LOT of damage trying to dominate a guy so you can convert him. Thats bad........Eventually you'll get better at it and learn when they will convert/won't convert.

The only reason I mention that is in the beginning I thought it wasn't worth it, but now that I'm better at not taking damage, it's a useful skill. Plus most of the tier bonuses are for that skill either directly or indirectly, so why not use it if you are going that deep?

Here is my build to give you some ideas.

You could prob modify it if you are running with our group as we have two Techs with c4 and drill upgrades.

You are right, I think the class we need more is a Ghost type since PRMH is not always on with us.

MM/Ghost/Enforcer sounds like a good idea.

The reason I go tech, is the perks from tech are superior to other tree's.

Mainly being the +headshot damage tier perk allows you to 1shot tan FBI's with the M308.

You can of course use other tree's, but understand that they are lackluster compared to the others. I spent many hours playing, and going through the skills to find the best skillsets :P

My opinion ofcourse

We have been trying to maximize stealth. Each play style is different considering not much money is spent to bring the trees up to level 3-4 Jobbie can play around with what works best for him.

Valid points though.
