Yes there should be a notice. Even the notice they provided me is weak in my opinion.
"As a courtesy, we'd like to let you know that your promotional pricing will roll to a new rate, a monthly increase of $10, effective with your next billing statement. Your new package rate continues to deliver substantial savings off retail pricing."
I don't think it is too much to have a countdown on your bill for the remaining time on every promotion you are getting. If not on your bill, it should be online. Then at least one month before the promotion (preferably two), they should notify you as to your new rate.
Instead they post these ridiculous "retail rates" which are $96/mo for 25 Mbps internet, $5 modem, $4.95 router. Whatever price you get they say is "substantial savings off retail pricing". Clearly no one is going to pay that price for internet, as they would go to public library instead.
The triple play cable jumped by $77.50 in one month. When we called they customer service said that a promotion expired and since no one called them they billed retail. Now they promptly added whatever the current promotion was available to bring the bill down the next month, but it was not retroactive. So in one month they may have doubled their operating profit on the account for the year.
