 | 4G on 4G off 3G on, and then no service. I would first like to know if anyone else has had these problems with Sprint during its "4G rollout", my phone shows 4G then seconds later its 3G and then seconds after that shows no service. And then other times it jumps from 3 bars to zero bars and then roaming. Some times is no service whats so ever, not even roaming.
Not only does this happen at home, but even in another city across the road from the tower (where I get 6 bars normally) again goes from 4G to 3G and loss of service. This has been going on for at least well over a week, for the most part minus the 4G its been going on at my home for the past few months.
So is this all part of the upgrade process, or is Sprint doing something wrong?
The areas I'm referring to are Ovid, Michigan. and Lansing, Michigan. also I just had my phone checked at a Sprint dealer (its also a new phone) and the phone works perfectly normal. |

| is it possible you are connecting to a site further away than you think? being on the fringe could keep causing your phone to switch back and forth. bars are not really a good indicator since that simply displays 1x (voice) strength and some phones, not very good at that. -- Usenet Block Accounts | Unlimited Accounts |

I don't think thats the case, I use to have a full signal up until this past year. My local tower here is around 3+ miles away, with the next tower being around 6 or 7 miles away so I doubt my phone keeps switching. I never had that problem in the past.
Even today when ever I turned my phone on it shows 4G but then soon as I try to use a app something like youtube or the internet on my phone it switches to 3G. |

One tower in my area last year was left dysfunctional for weeks and weeks by a Sprint contractor. Forcing many cell users to connect to weak connections on nearby towers and in some cases left with no connection at all. It took a local TV news story to get Sprint to find the problem and restore service to the tower. |

Well for almost a month we had no service at all coming from the local tower, I called when the service was lousy and they said they we were due for the upgrade, month later it was still bad and I assumed it was part of the upgrade process, but I called Sprint telling him of my problem and my neighbors problem who is on Sprint as well (bad phone connection, almost no internet to speak of ect..). The Sprint tech checked and said the tower had nothing working, days later it was improved, but that was only a few months ago maybe in April or May.
Now the past few weeks its been the 4G/3G/No connection problem. Does anyone know how long the process of upgrading & switching to 4G should take? Is it a process that takes weeks or months of doing what? |

I work in downtown Philly, and Sprint service there has been so frustrating the past month. I have all bars, and 4G service showing on my S3. The problem is that the mobile network is not active. If i go to facebook, website, or anything that requires a internet connection, nothing happens. The upload arrow illuminates, but nothing downloads. After a couple minutes it will switch to 3G...with the same issue. Ulitmately the 4G and 3G will dissappears the cycle starts again. I've tried to update my PRL, but that doesn't because....I've got not connectivity! Luckily once I get into work, I can connect to my work's wifi. Call service is not affected, only mobile network/internet. My wife contacted them on twitter. They replied asking for a cross street location...and never replied to her. We're so annoyed that we're considering switching after 12 years of service (of course we're under contract still). After a search online, other's are experiencing the same issue throughout the country. Also, it has been said that in the fine print of service contract, connectivity is not guaranteed. The way I see it, they are not providing a service in which I am paying for. In fact, they charge extra for smart phone mobile network because I've got an S3. I'm pretty frustrated about it right now if you can't tell. So I apologize for the rant. |
